woods chuckle softly

as bodies get warm

air sends sparks

like fireworks around

ember sleeps under

but above the cold ground

smoke’s attracting

colorless silver wind

night whips wintry

heat-stricken skin

bidding goodbye

to a paper-thin spine

abandoned by evening rush.
